CHEF-DRIVEN, ASIAN CHICKEN AND RICE CONCEPT,
ROOSTER & RICE, SIGNS FIRST FRANCHISE

San Francisco, California, June 21, 2022 – San Francisco-based, fast-casual restaurant concept, Rooster & Rice, signed its first franchisee, Gore Song.
Song’s plan is to develop at least three Rooster & Rice units in Orange County California.

Built around a simple Thai food favorite, Khao Mun Ghai, Rooster & Rice (with 11 owned and operated locations throughout California and 1 location in Houston, Texas) and its chicken and rice-based menu is redefining the Asian QSR market in the US. Created by chef Tommy Charoen and experienced restaurateur, Bryan Lew, and with backing from the Aroi Hospitality Group (AHG), which includes two founders of Caviar, Rooster & Rice offers a simple, healthy, and easy to execute menu bringing simple and comforting Asian tastes to American consumers.

Gore Song, Rooster & Rice’s first franchisee, was a fan first. “When I lived in San Francisco,” Song reports, “ I would eat at Rooster & Rice all the time. “Rooster & Rice is a satisfying meal anytime of the day, from breakfast, lunch and dinner to a late night snack. I love the menu and the business model and look forward to offering more opportunity for Californians to sample authentic Thai chicken and rice dishes.” In fact, Song adds, ‘the opportunity and scalability of the Rooster & Rice concept had so much potential that we signed on with a multi-unit franchise.”

“Most restaurant brands grow because they have an explosively popular offering or an air-tight operational model that makes them easy and inexpensive to scale. Rooster & Rice is one of very few brands that has both.” Says Bryan Lew, co-founder and CEO. “That winning combination has allowed us to grow rapidly throughout the Bay Area, and we’re finding increasing demand from neighboring markets. Franchising will allow us to meet this growing demand like never before while introducing our fresh, high-quality dishes to new customers across the country.”

Rooster & Rice recently expanded its operation from California to Texas. Their Houston location opened in June 2022. According to Rooster & Rice CFO, Min Park, “Rooster & Rice picked the Houston market for its evolving food scene and community energy.”

7-YEAR-OLD ROOSTER & RICE ASSEMBLES FRANCHISE TEAM

In addition to an already existing team of entrepreneurs with a long track record of success, the company engaged the services of well-known franchise industry experts, Gary Occhiogrosso and Fred Kirvan. They are charged with bringing Rooster & Rice’s simple, low cost and easy-to-model franchise concept to the California and Texas (Houston) markets and eventually franchising nationwide.

“The time is right to bring Rooster & Rice’s category-defining concept to more people.” Says Occhiogrosso. “Rooster & Rice’s mom-inspired, simple but delicious menu proved its worth during the pandemic. Their low overhead comfort-food concept continued to be successful as others fell by the wayside.” He adds. “Rooster & Rice has a proven business model and turnkey system that will allow franchisees to bring a one-of-a-kind concept to their neighborhoods at a time when budgets are top of mind and guests demand good-for-you and flavorful food at a great price.”

FRANCHISES AVAILABLE IN MULTIPLE STATES

Rooster & Rice plans to expand its restaurant business model from 12 locations in 2022 to 16 to 20 locations by 2023. Franchisees benefit from ongoing coaching and company support on everything from site selection, protected territories, third party financing, training, and marketing. Rooster & Rice franchises are currently available in California, Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and soon to be offered in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

###

ABOUT ROOSTER & RICE Rooster & Rice is a fast-casual concept originated from the San Francisco Bay Area and specializing in Khao Mun Gai or Organic Thai-Style Chicken Rice. Veteran restaurateur Bryan Lew & Chef Thomas Charoen founded Rooster & Rice. Regularly requested by Tommy Charoen’s fellow chefs after a long day’s work in the luxury kitchens of Las Vegas, Khao Mun Gai began life as a simple comfort dish from Thailand. Though today the dish is available in many different mouthwatering variations, Chef Charoen’s version is a clear standout––the result of years of fine-tuning, inspired by a recipe from his very own mom. Khao Mun Gai has since become the signature offering at Rooster & Rice, a charming, no-frills restaurant concept developed by Chef Charoen and co-founder Bryan Lew. The dish represents the best of Asian street food culture, proving good meals can indeed come in humble packages. Once you try our take on this delectable combination of fragrant rice, poached chicken, and homemade soybean sauce you won’t ever be the same. In 2018, Rooster & Rice teamed up with two former founders of the food delivery app Caviar (which sold to Square in 2016 and now part of Doordash) to expand from the Bay Area into developing a model fit for franchising efforts.

Magic Cup Travels West: New Location in Southlake Arriving Soon!
By: SHAHRIAR KABIR – with permission from the Magic Cup Blog site

Coffee and boba tea aficionados in the greater Dallas area can look forward to a brand-new cafe in the near future. This month, our Vietnamese American-owned Magic Cup Cafe franchise announces its westward expansion to Southlake, TX, which is expected to provide trendy tea drinkers throughout the Dallas suburb with their very own novelty boba hotspot.

Our innovative beverage franchise––fresh off a recent opening in McKinney -––is proud to name nationwide entrepreneur Vinay Calyampoondi as the owner and operator of the new Southlake location. “We’re excited and honored to welcome Vinay to the Magic Cup family,” our COO, My Lynn Nguyen, says, adding: “Vinay has a proven record in business success, and, with his unique outlook and personal passion for the Magic Cup brand, we know he’ll be an excellent collaborative partner going forward. Our team can’t wait to grow with him.”

Vinay shares in My Lynn’s excitement, revealing he’s delighted to launch a Magic Cup location in the bustling community of Southlake. Originally trained in technology (he has a master’s degree in computer science), Vinay describes himself as a foodie at heart. Outside of an extensive real estate portfolio in New Jersey and a thriving MY SALON Suite franchise in Philadelphia, Vinay’s love of food recently led him to open a Cold Stone Creamery franchise in Southlake in October 2020 (with plans for one in Colleyville this fall).

While researching food and beverage franchises, Vinay notes he became aware of a massive potential within the boba tea franchise segment. Inspired by Magic Cup’s refreshing selection of multicultural fare and its inclusive atmosphere, Vinay decided a Magic Cup franchise would be the perfect way to continue his journey in the F&B industry. “I was looking for something with a ‘place to hang out’ vibe as well as something that would provide an ‘Aha!’ moment for customers of all ages,” Vinay says. “When I discovered Magic Cup, it all clicked. The cafe had everything I envisioned––from its menu to its décor––and I wanted to share that feeling of joyful discovery with my customers.”

Magic Cup invites Southlake boba fans to stay tuned for news of the upcoming grand opening. Readers interested in launching their own bubble tea business can contact us via magiccupcafefranchise.com to learn more about becoming a Magic Cup franchisee.

McKinney TX (June 10, 2021). After months of extensive preparation, Magic Cup Cafe––a community-oriented, multicultural brand known for its hand-crafted boba tea, coffee, and smoothie beverages––is finally opening a brand-new franchise in McKinney, TX.

Located at 7701 Stacy Rd., Suite 100, the McKinney cafe will welcome customers starting this June, bringing Magic Cup’s trademark selection of naturally flavored, internationally inspired novelty drinks to the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area for the very first time. The location will also feature a drive-through (and will be the only boba shop in the region to do so), allowing for safe and easy pickup as Texas continues to navigate the ongoing pandemic.

Upon making the announcement, Magic Cup co-founder and COO My Lynn Nguyen expressed her immense excitement at the McKinney expansion. “We’re thrilled to be a part of McKinney’s diverse community, and we so look forward to bringing a wide variety of high-quality ingredients and one-of-a-kind recipes to Stacy Rd. McKinney franchise owner Chi Tran echoed Nguyen’s sentiments, saying she and partner Tam T Trinh were drawn to the city thanks to its multicultural vibe and abundant food scene. “McKinney won us over because of the diversity of the crowd,” Tran noted, adding, “The city doesn’t have many boba shops, so we really wanted to introduce Magic Cup Cafe to the area. We feel our eclectic menu and fun, family-friendly environment will make us an ideal spot for McKinney residents to sit, sip, and pass some enjoyable time.”

Big news for Texas tea lovers: After a solid 5 years of hard work and dedication, Magic Cup Cafe is excited to announce that our business is expanding to a new location!

Our new cafe will soon be opening in McKinney, TX, allowing even more tea and coffee drinkers to enjoy Magic Cup’s unique and delicious beverages in-store or on the go. After 16 Years, Family Owned Gofer Ice Cream Launches Franchise Program

Gofer Ice Cream Franchised Shop, Darien Connecticut

From traditional hard and soft ice cream to fat-free treats, and more recently expanding into plant-based ice cream products with the same promise of high quality for which the brand is known.

PRESS RELEASE
Beloved Connecticut based Ice Cream Company plans to expand in the Northeast

Stamford, Connecticut. Gofer Franchise Systems LLC. Today Gofer Ice Cream announced it has launched a program to offer Gofer Ice Cream Franchises throughout Connecticut immediately. The company is set to expand beyond the State in 2020.

Jay Ragusa, Gofer Ice Cream’s Founder, said: “We’ve been preparing for this day since we launched the brand in 2003. It has always been the plan to prove and perfect the concept and then replicate it through the franchise model. We’ve learned a lot over the years, and we feel we’re in a great position to help others own, operate, and prosper in their own business. Prospective franchisee partners can be confident in the Gofer Ice Cream Brand and system that we offer. The fact is that many concepts have come and gone, but we are here thriving and growing.”

Ice Cream, Franchise, Profit
Gofer Ice Cream Franchised Shop, Darien Connecticut

The successful “Gofer” brand has been serving the Fairfield County Connecticut area for over seventeen seasons, through its current five locations, and it has become a local favorite for many. The concept of Gofer Ice Cream, which was founded by Jay Ragusa and his family, is to be the “home team” of ice cream places. In every town or city, the goal is for Gofer Ice Cream to become the center of the community, where family and friends can enjoy a high-quality frozen treat in a welcoming environment. The shops are simple, easy, and fun to operate. Also, Gofer Ice Cream Shops are built for a relatively low cost. Franchise Partners are already scooping smiles daily, and the goal is to bring this experience to more and more communities. Gofer Ice Cream offers a variety of frozen treats for the entire family. From traditional hard and soft ice cream to fat-free treats, and more recently expanding into plant-based ice cream products with the same promise of high quality for which the brand is known. In 2019 a new company, “Gofer Franchise Systems LLC,” was formed to focus on expanding via franchising the concept beyond Fairfield County.

It’s always a good day to…GOFER Ice Cream

For the past several months, in preparation for the franchise opportunity launch, the team has been working with Franchise Industry Veteran Gary Occhiogrosso of Franchise Growth Solutions. “Gary brings his experience in not only the Franchise Industry but specifically in the frozen dessert business. He has the deep knowledge and connections specifically needed at this point in our growth. With the addition of Franchise Growth Solutions to the team, we are working with the best in the business to make sure we do franchising right. An investment made by a Franchisee is, in many cases, a once and a lifetime decision, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.” commented Jay Ragusa.

Mr. Occhiogrosso has 30+ years of experience in franchise development and sales and was integral to the success of nationally recognized brands, including Ranch*1, Desert Moon Fresh Mexican Grille, and brands found under the multi-brand franchisor, TRUFOODS, LLC.

Occhiogrosso stated: “It’s a compelling franchise opportunity, the frozen dessert business continues to grow. People love ice cream. But more than merely the best cream, Gofer creates memories by delivering a family and community experience. With frozen treats to meet virtually every customer trend, whether Plant-Based, or Fat-Free or Soft Serve or our Premium Ice Cream, Gofer Ice Cream gives our Franchise Partners a unique competitive advantage in the Ice Cream business.”

I believe that among other things, professional and modern design for our new stores is a step in that direction.” said Go! Go! Curry!® CEO, Tomoko Omori
